Do note that Citra isn't a miracle worker, even with a much higher resolution and any other improvements, you're still working with pretty low quality assets that were meant to be rendered on a small 400x200 screen. It's something you want to experiment with on a game by game basis.įor game specific stuff refer to their entries on the Compatibility List - that will give you information on how well the game is currently supported and any specific settings or issues.Īs for running it full screen, I personally use the Side By Side screen layout for the most part (you can find this in the settings). Most other things are correct by default, really the only other thing you might want to try experimenting with are the Texture Filters - they're not universally better, they can make some things look better and some things look worse, and each type works better for different things and has different impacts on performance. As for best settings? Bump internal resolution up to 4-5x to start with and if whatever you're running is running okay, keep bumping it up until you can't notice any differences in visual quality, or you start experiencing issues.
